Dave has spent the last 40-plus years working in all phases of the retail automobile business, beginning with his position as a Legion of Leaders Chevy salesman. He has been a VSC TPA, industry consultant, expert witness and advocate. He has lobbied successfully against the IRS, appeared on ABC 20/20 and MSNBC, been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Automotive News and other publications, and authored more than 150 articles published in trade journals. He holds an MBA in a dealership-oriented program he helped create.

He recently achieved a bucket-list goal of nominating Pat Ryan, the father of the autonomous F&I department, for induction into the Automotive Hall of Fame. Mr. Ryan was inducted into the Hall in July 2019.

Shannon Robertson, a Master Certified Professional in Financial Services, is the executive vice president at the Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals (AFIP). In a little over four years at AFIP, Shannon has been instrumental in streamlining operational structures and processes. He’s always looking for innovative ways AFIP can support its members, agents and dealers. Shannon initiated AFIP’s participation in DealAuditor.

A natural trainer, Shannon also conducts AFIP certification boot camps. Many of his ideas for service enhancements, such as a visual tool that makes training even more accessible to boot camp attendees, come from feedback in the field.

Before joining AFIP, Shannon gained 13 years of experience in financial services at Fidelity Investments. When he left Fidelity, he was a managing director overseeing an $800 million book of business representing 52 clients.

Before his time at Fidelity Investments, Shannon gained automotive experience working for D&M Leasing as a leasing consultant. Earlier in his career, he worked at AFIP as the member benefits coordinator and office manager – while also providing customer service support.

Before joining the workforce, Shannon completed a two-year mission of service in the Philippines, where he became fluent in Tagalog and held leadership and training responsibilities.

Tevis Grisso, a Senior Certified Professional in Financial Services, is the Vice President of Sales and Operations at the Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals (AFIP).

In his three years at AFIP, Tevis’ focus has been on maximizing operational excellence, delivering financial performance and providing a strategic focus on bringing advanced technology to AFIP and its clients.

As a professional trainer for AFIP, Tevis conducts AFIP certification boot camps across the U.S. both on-site and virtually with an on-line platform. His experience allows him to be aware of the latest concerns in the various territories nationally and as a result provide valuable insight to association members.

Tevis has over 20+ years of experience in account development. He has worked with Fortune 500 and small to medium business sized companies in Texas in overachieving objectives ranging from $10 million to over $100 million in revenue. These companies have included IBM, Siemens (Unify/Atos), and CSC (DXC technology) among others.

Prior to launching his technology career, Tevis worked in the automotive industry with two different dealer groups in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
