DealerAide Red Flags, the Federal Trade Commission requires franchised automobile dealers to implement a written Identity Theft Prevention Program (ITPP) under the direction of an appointed Corporate Compliance Officer and update their program periodically.  DealerAide Red Flags program provides online training and virtual assistance to implement a robust program.

ADCO

The Association of Dealership Compliance Officers is designed to reduce business risk for the dealer, protect the dealer’s bottom line and enhance the reputation of the dealership within the community. This is completed by training the dealership‘s compliance professionals and providing additional educational opportunities and resources to build and maintain an effective dealership compliance and ethics program.

Federal Regulatory Automotive Training (FRAT)

The Federal Regulatory Automotive Training (FRAT) program was created in partnership with the Association of Dealership Compliance Officers (ADCO) and Product Prep.  This program allows dealers to add dealership employees, including those newly hired, and track the training status of current personnel.  The FRAT program is for dealer executives, sales, operations staff, Compliance Officers, and any essential employees.  Training modules included in this program adress the Safeguards Rule, Red Flags Rule, Disposal Rule, OFAC, ECOA, FCRA, and many others.

DealerResolve

DealerResolve is a brand new Complaint Management Software Tool that will allow Dealers to track consumer complaints from start to finish.  Dealers can display QR codes in their showroom floors, F&I offices and even on paperwork.  Administrative functions allow one of more Dealership personnel to track and respond to consumer complaints.

The tool will help dealers meet the concerns that the FTC has released under the announcement of the Motor Vehicle Trade Regulation (aka. C.A.R.S. rule)

Motor Vehicle Trade Regulation (CARS Rule)

With the announcement of the Motor Vehicle Trade Regulation, otherwise called the “C.A.R.S” rule by the FTC late last year, was a shock to our industry with the unrealistic expectations of the FTC.  Thankfully, NADA along with TADA have challenged the ruling in court and the FTC has postponed the effective date pending the lawsuit.  We do know that either the rule as it is currently written or some part of the rule will most likely go into effect at some point in the future.  It is imperative that we start preparing now to be compliant with some of the major points of the rule.  AFIP has already started working on its CARS module with the expectation of having the module fully incorporated into our curriculum no later than 3/1.

AFIP Compliance Hotline

AFIP offers a compliance hotline to help answer or navigate situations which an agent or dealership might encounter during day-to-day business.  Call the AFIP office at (817) 428-2434 choose option # 3 (Compliance Questions) or send an email to info@afip.com.  *Response times can vary due to complexity of the question or concern.

Voluntary Protection Products

Dealers need to establish a Dealership-specific VPP Policy that addresses two key needs:

1. Optimized Product Penetratiion and Satisfied Customers - the model policy is designed to optimize your VPP program's revenue-generating capabilities and encourage fair dealings for all parties to the transaction.

2.  Regulatory Compliance - the model policy will increase your ability to withstand the inevitable oversight of all phases of VPP transactions if your program is targeted by a regulatory agency.

Dealer Auditing Tool

Need to audit your internal deals at your specific rooftops.  This tool will help!  Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
