It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Marcia Nelson Jackson on January 27, 2026. Marcia was not only a founding member of the Association of Dealership Compliance Officers Board of Directors, but also a guiding force whose legal expertise, leadership, and generous commitment helped shape the foundation of our compliance community.
Marcia’s contributions to ADCO were extraordinary. She played a critical role in developing the Human Resources compliance module, facilitated relevant webinars, and provided exceptional legal guidance that strengthened our programs and elevated the standards of dealership compliance education. Her work reflected both her brilliance as an attorney and her passion for protecting organizations through ethical and lawful practices.
Marcia Nelson Jackson was a partner in the Labor and Employment Group of Wick Phillips. Marcia’s practice includes all aspects of employment and labor law, strategic client counseling, preventative training, and internal investigations. In addition to representing employers in single and multi-plaintiff employment lawsuits, she regularly represents clients in wage and hour collective actions filed under the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as disputes involving non-competition covenants and employee benefits litigation. Marcia has appeared in multiple state and federal courts throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio, and California, as well as administrative agencies in various states. Her client’s range in size from local to global companies.
Marcia is a regular speaker on current issues to employers and serves on the Employment Law Editorial Advisory Board for Strafford Publications where she is a regular presenter on their nationwide teleconference Continuing Legal Education Programs. As a litigator, Marcia was formidable. She brought clarity, precision, and quiet confidence to every case she handled. Her strength was not just in her mastery of the law, but in her ability to listen, analyze, and strategically guide her clients through the most complex and emotionally charged matters. She was deeply respected for her preparation, her integrity, and her unwavering advocacy. Her reputation as one of the
Top 100 Attorneys in Labor and Employment Litigation was not simply a title—it was a reflection of her exceptional skill, discipline, and commitment to justice.Marcia was a faithful friend, a trusted advisor, and a true champion of compliance and integrity. Her legacy lives on in the programs she helped build, the professionals she mentored, and the culture of excellence she inspired within ADCO and AFIP. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ron, and her children, Sam, Kendra, Will, and Lexi. Our hearts are with her family, whom she loved deeply and spoke of often with pride and joy.
Marcia’s impact on our organization and our ADCOcommunity is immeasurable. She will be profoundly missed and always remembered as a cornerstone of our mission and a treasured member of the ADCOP board.
