AFIP Pre-Exam Review Sessions

AFIP provides pre-test reviews to help candidates who are ready to test solidify their knowledge of the federal and state regulatory information they’ve studied. These open reviews are typically available at least once during most weeks. Times for the reviews are pre-determined and will be posted on the AFIP review calendar available on this website for your reference. (All review dates and times subject to change without notice. You must be registered for a review call to participate.)

What to Expect

AFIP Review Sessions are hosted by AFIP Executive Director and industry veteran David Robertson. He will provide an overview of the information vital to passing the AFIP federal and state exams and general test-taking tips. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and discuss the regulations openly until your understanding of the law is complete.

The review takes around two hours, but you should schedule a four-hour block of time, as you may be asked to hold or call back for your state’s review when multiple states are represented on the call.

There are a few other things you should know about our reviews.

  • You may only attend one review session prior to taking the test. If you fail one or more portions of the test, you may attend a second review prior to your retest. (If you require special assistance due to disability or a language barrier, please contact AFIP.)
  • All review sessions are open to candidates from any state or employer. Companies with 12 or more candidates may request a private review session for their company personnel (subject to availability).
  • The review sessions on the calendar are the only dates and times available. Review sessions will be closed when the maximum number of individuals or states are in attendance to keep the review as short as possible. Review sessions may be closed for non-attendance as early as 48 hours previous to the scheduled session date. Times and dates are subject to change at any time without notice (if you’re already scheduled for a review that must be cancelled, you will be contacted via email).

Registering for Reviews

Call 817.428.2434 to add yourself to the desired review session. Please note that you must be added to the review session to ensure someone is available to provide it and to ensure the review isn't cancelled due to lack of attendance.  You will be required to provide your name, telephone number, email address and the reviews you require at the time of the call.

You will receive call-in instructions at the time of the call or via email. Please dial into the call two minutes early.

What If I Miss a Review?

If you miss a review or are more than ten minutes late, please contact AFIP to schedule a new review. Given the nature of this business, it is not uncommon for a candidate to be required to leave a review in the middle to attend to a customer. We recommend scheduling a review for a day you don’t work to avoid this issue, but if it happens, simply hang up quietly and call AFIP at 817.428.2434 to reschedule.
