AFIP Certification Program Testing

You must pass each of the three test modules with a score of 80 percent or greater and submit all required documents (e.g., Senior Ethics Workbook for Senior candidates) to become AFIP Certified.

If you fail any portion of the AFIP Certification Course, you will be given one more opportunity to pass (additional fees apply). You only have to retake the portion of the test you failed, but you must wait at least two weeks before retaking the exam (no exceptions). If you have special needs (i.e., a language barrier or documented learning disability), please contact AFIP.

Before the test begins, a tutorial will be available that shows the candidate how to use the online testing system. Candidates may answer the questions in any order, skipping and returning to questions as necessary.

Before You Can Test

To prepare for the test:

  • You must have applied for any state required licenses to perform your duties.
  • You must pre-register (before testing) no less than two weeks prior to your anticipated test date. We recommend you do this upon receipt of your study materials. To pre-register now, fill out this form.
  • After pre-registration,you will receive an email with your pre-registration code. This code is vital to the testing process. Keep the email and the code some where safe.

NOTE: Pre-registration is an automated two week process with PSI and cannot be expedited for any reason.
